Course Aim and Objectives:
This training session will enable you to move and handle people safely, reducing the risk of injury to both you and your client.
Learners successfully completing this training will gain an understanding of the correct techniques for safer people moving and handling including assisted stand, assisted site, use of wheelchairs and chair moves.
Key Topics covered in this training include:
Basic risk assessing using E.L.I.T.E safe principles, role and responsibility when moving. Lifting and handling techniques, spine and back care, Manual handling legislation, moving and handling equipment.
Assessment & Certification
This course is assessed by way of a practical observation and a short multiple-choice assessment. Learners who successfully pass the assessment will receive a certificate accredited by the All Wales Passport Scheme.

Anyone wanting to begin a career in the care sector or requiring a refresher on manual handling inanimate loads.
