Course Aim and Objectives:
This 7-week course will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to provide best practice in dementia care.
Learners who successfully complete this training will gain an understanding on how to embrace a person-centred approach to dementia care.
Key Topics covered in this training include:
How a person can feel living with dementia, embracing a person-centred approach, being mindful of memories and understanding meaningful occupation when supporting the person, the significance of communication and language of behaviour, how to support the person to avoid falls and the use of alternative therapies before medication.
Assessment & Certification:
This course is assessed by way of a multiple-choice questionnaire. Learners who successfully pass the assessment will receive a certificate accredited by the Alzheimer’s Society

Anyone who works in a care setting supporting people living with dementia or would like to begin a career caring for people living with dementia.
